I love this time of year because all things pistachio start to appear in grocery stores 😊 Pistachio is a flavor I can’t get enough of.  It’s mildly sweet and has a slight almond flavor.  Sometimes they are salted but can be enjoyed raw, and they have this lovely pastel green color when used in recipes.  Most commonly, pistachios (or pistachio flavoring) are used in breakfast/brunch or dessert type dishes.  You can however use them on top of salads or perhaps in a pasta dish like Pistachio Fettuccine.  Pistachios can be on the expensive side, but I think they are worth the cost and make you appreciate cooking with them that much more! I have a handful of pistachio themed recipes to share with you today: Pistachio Bread Pistachio Pudding Bars Pistachio Cookies Pistachio Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Buttercream Frosting   Pistachio Bread is the perfect breakfast item because it can be enjoyed at home or … Continue reading

Christmas is a time for baking, enjoying good food, and spending time with family and friends.  The holidays may look a little different this year but that doesn’t mean you can’t participate it some of your usual traditions.  Take a cookie exchange party for example, you can still bake the cookies but instead of getting together with friends to exchange, you can deliver to their doorstep or ship them.  It’s a nice way to say you’re thinking about them and still want to be connected this holiday season.  Plus, you can’t have a happy holiday without desserts and plenty of sweets 🙂 Whether you are making breads, cookies, pies, candy, or other goodies, I suggest you still follow through with your traditions.  It will get you in the holiday spirit and bring some comfort to these trying times.  I personally like to eat Christmas cookies all month long and even … Continue reading

Are you ready for some football? Getting together with family and friends on the weekend is a fun and spirited way to celebrate fall while cheering on your favorite team. There are so many games to watch and plenty of creative food options to choose from. We are gearing up for the big Viking / Packer game this weekend so I wanted to share some of our favorite football snacks. These were a hit for past games so I’m sure there will be some repeats for the game this weekend! I am not someone who can pass up sweets so I started with the most important part…dessert 🙂 I made chocolate covered strawberries and chocolate covered Oreos that I decorated to look like little footballs. Both are super easy to make! Start by lining 2 baking sheets with wax paper (this helps with easy clean-up too). Then melt 1 package … Continue reading
