Sloppy Joes seem to be a family tradition in many households but we always forget about them when deciding what to have for dinner. They are quick and easy to make, yet fairly inexpensive because you tend to have many of the ingredients already in your pantry. And for those of you with kids, they tend to be a kid-friendly option even for the picky child, so it’s a win for everyone. Needless to say, now that we’ve made them once they will become a recurring meal in our house. I don’t eat red meat so I like to use ground chicken instead. Ground chicken tends to have a little less fat and little more protein than ground beef so it’s also a slightly healthier option. We’ve got some scary good food to make  your BOOFFET perfect with some of our delicious prepared foods and recipes! Fall has arrived and it’s time for some football!  Throw that beer in the fridge and start planning what football-friendly food to serve while watching the game. Make up some Game Day Pretzels for that crunch that every gathering needs, this is one that you need to make a couple of days ahead so plan accordingly. If the kids are watching the game with you it might be fun to make Sloppy Joe Nachos (the adults will love these too). Make our simple but tasty Sloppy Joe recipe, next make our Queso recipe, again really simple. Now you are ready to assemble your nachos. Layer a platter with tortilla chips and spoon your hot Sloppy Joe mix over the top of the chips and drizzle hot Queso over the top. Our glorious spring weather disappeared quickly with a dusting of snow so we turned to some heartier dishes for this week’s menu. One of the dishes this week is Speedy Baked Ziti. I was a fan of the Sopranos on HBO and all of the characters loved Carmella’s Ziti and a dish that brought the family together for Sunday dinner so when I ran across this recipe in Food and Wine, I had to give it a try! Another recipe this week is our Southwestern Pot Roast, a very simple recipe for the slow cooker that we serve with  provides another great meal with leftover pot roast used for Shredded Beef Quesadillas, here is our video for the quesadillas. We have some beautiful salmon filets in our store this week and a recipe that is sure to please is Bacon Wrapped Salmon. This recipe uses Tom Douglas Rub with Love – Salmon rub as well as a Savu smoker bag. The salmon rub is brown sugar based  and this rub flavors “the best salmon in Seattle” at Etta’s restaurant, according to Northwest Palate Magazine. If you love easy clean up with the bonus of great taste you will love the Savu smoker bag.   Our weekly menu also has another salmon recipe for Maple Glazed Salmon, another delicious option! Halloween is one of our favorite holidays and we have gathered some of our favorite products for a Festive Fright Night gathering. Our Chef Ryan video for Halloween, The Feast of Fools has some ideas for some scary treats of Witches Fingers and Creepy Chocolate Spiders and an easy recipe for Sloppy (Spooky) Joes.
