Beer Battered Cheese Curds

Serves 4-6


1 cup Beer or non-alcoholic beer, (8 oz)
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
1 cup Flour
1 Egg
1 teaspoon Salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 bag Cheese curds, (12 oz)chilled in freezer for 10 minutes
Vegetable oil, for frying
Ranch Dip, for serving if desired


  1. Whisk batter ingredients together in medium bowl. Fill a large deep skillet or Dutch oven with 1-inch of vegetable oil and heat to 350 degrees F.
  2. Dip chilled cheese curds in batter mix and fry in batches until golden brown on all sides. Drain on paper towels and serve hot with Ranch dip on the side, if desired.
