Steak and Pasta Skillet Goulash





Serves 4
Ingredients:

4 slices bacon, diced+ Add to Shopping List |
1 lb beef sirloin steak, sliced into thin strips+ Add to Shopping List |
1 large onion, chopped+ Add to Shopping List |
3 cloves fresh garlic, minced+ Add to Shopping List |
1 green or red bell pepper, chopped+ Add to Shopping List |
8 oz. sliced mushrooms+ Add to Shopping List |
1 1/2 cups beef stock+ Add to Shopping List |
14 oz can diced tomatoes, undrained+ Add to Shopping List |
8 oz can tomato sauce+ Add to Shopping List |
2 teaspoon sugar+ Add to Shopping List |
2 tablespoons red wine vinegar+ Add to Shopping List |
1 teaspoon smoked paprika, (mild)+ Add to Shopping List |
1 tablespoon sweet paprika+ Add to Shopping List |
2 teaspoons caraway seed+ Add to Shopping List |
Sea salt, to taste+ Add to Shopping List |
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste+ Add to Shopping List |
Sour cream, for garnish+ Add to Shopping List |
1/2 lb. cooked rigatoni, ziti, penne, or rotini pasta+ Add to Shopping List |
Chopped chives, for garnish+ Add to Shopping List |
Directions:
- While steak mixture is simmering, make the pasta according to package directions for al dente (firm texture). Add pasta to skillet, stir well and season to taste with salt and pepper. Serve hot and top each portion with a spoonful of sour cream and sprinkle with chopped chives.
