Ingredients:
Approximately 45-50 Saltine Crackers
2 Sticks Unsalted Butter
1 Cup Light Brown Sugar, packed
2 Cups Semisweet Chocolate Chips
Flaky Sea Salt (or any topping of your choice; sprinkles, M&Ms, etc.)
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking pan with aluminum foil and spray with cooking spray.
- Arrange the crackers in single layer, all the way to the sides. Break crackers in half if needed, to fill the pan.
- Melt the butter in a saucepan. Once melted, add the brown sugar and stir to combine. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, let cook, undisturbed, for 3 minutes.
- Pour over the crackers and use an offset spatula to spread to the edges, fully covering the crackers.
- Bake for 6-7 minutes then remove from the oven and let sit until the bubbles subside, about 1 minute.
- Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top and bake for an additional minute. Remove from the oven and use an offset spatula to spread to the edges, fully covering the toffee layer.
- Sprinkle the sea salt over the top (or any toppings of your choice).
- Let cool on the counter for about 30 minutes then refrigerate for 90 minutes to completely firm up. Once firm, break into small pieces to serve. Enjoy!
- Leftovers should be stored in an airtight container on the counter.
