Ingredients:
3 lb. Chuck roast
1/2 cup vinegar
1/2 tablespoon salt
Freshly ground pepper
6 cloves garlic
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup water, plus 2 tablespoons
2 tablespoons cornstarch
Directions:
Slice large onion in bowl. Add and mix together 1/2 cup vinegar, 1/2 tablespoon salt, pepper, and whole cloves. Place roast in large sealable plastic bag and pour marinade over top.
Refrigerate for 24 hours or up to 3 days, turning a couple times per day. Transfer meat and vinegar mixture to crock pot. Add raisins, sugar, and 1 cup water.
Cook in slow cooker on low for 8 to 10 hours.
To serve, remove meat and thicken gravy with 2 tablespoons cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water. Serve over potatoes or noodles.
