Pesto Pizza Burgers





Serves 8
Ingredients:
| 1 lb bulk Italian sausage, hot or mild |
| 1 lb lean ground beef |
| 1/2 cup pepperoni, finely diced |
| 2 cloves garlic, pressed or finely minced |
| 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped |
| 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning |
| 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated or shredded |
| 1/4 cup marinara sauce, plus more for topping |
| 1/4 cup prepared pesto sauce, plus more for topping |
| 8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, cut into 8 equal-sized pieces |
| 8 split butter Ciabatta rolls, toasted, for serving |
Directions:
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
- In a large bowl, combine Italian sausage, ground beef, pepperoni, garlic, onion, Italian seasoning, Parmesan cheese, marinara sauce, and pesto sauce; mix well.
- Divide into 8 equal portions; roll into balls. Place a piece of the fresh mozzarella in the middle of each ball of meat and fully enclose. Shape into patties.
- Grill burgers until juices run clear, about 5 minutes per side. Transfer to platter; cover with foil and let rest 5 minutes. Place each burger on toasted Ciabatta rolls and top with more marinara and pesto sauce. Serve warm.
