Swiss Gruyére Fondue

Serves 6-8
Ingredients:
2 cloves garlic, halved
1 cup dry white wine
3 1/4 cups Gruyère cheese
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons Kirsch (cherry brandy)
Freshly grated nutmeg
Salt, to taste
Ground black pepper, to taste
2 Bake at Home Baguettes from bakery
Directions:
- Rub the inside of a fondue pot with the cut side of a garlic clove. Pour in the wine and heat gently on the stove. Gradually add the grated cheese, stirring constantly until melted.
- Mix the cornstarch with the Kirsch and add, then stir until thickened.
- Season with salt, pepper and grated nutmeg to taste. When the fondue is hot and smooth, but not boiling, transfer to a burner at the table.
- Bake baguettes & cut 1 inch slices while warm. Each diner dips bread into the fondue.
