Sausage Gravy with Biscuits

Serves 8
Ingredients:
8 Biscuits, freshly prepared, canned or frozen
1 package bulk pork sausage, (16 oz.)
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
3 cups milk
Directions:
- Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Bake biscuits as directed on can or from frozen bag, whichever you prefer.
- Meanwhile, crumble sausage into large skillet. Cook over medium-high heat until browned and no longer pink, stirring frequently. Do not over cook. Once cooked, scoop the sausage out of the pan and leave the sausage drippings in the pan.
- With wire whisk, stir in flour, salt and pepper in the pan. Mix well with the whisk so there are no lumps. Gradually stir in milk.
- Once mixed well, add the sausage back to the gravy mixture. Cook until mixture thickens, stirring constantly. By adding back the sausage to the gravy and continuing to cook it for a while, this allows more flavors from sausage to come into the gravy giving it a more hearty sausage flavor.
- Split warm biscuits; place on serving plates. Serve sausage mixture over warm split biscuits.
