Ingredients:
| 1 lb ground beef |
| 1 egg |
| 3 green onions, chopped |
| 3 tablespoons panko breadcrumbs |
| 1 tablespoon spicy brown mustard |
| 2 tablespoons BBQ sauce, plus more for topping |
| 1 tablespoon Cajun or Creole seasoning, plus 1 teaspoon |
| 4 slices smoked cheddar or Gouda cheese |
| French fried onions and coleslaw, for topping |
Directions:
- In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, egg, green onions, breadcrumbs, mustard, 2 tablespoons of BBQ sauce and 1 tablespoon of the Cajun seasoning. Shape into 4 patties.
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat. In a small bowl, mix together 1/2 cup more of the BBQ sauce with 1 teaspoon of the Cajun seasoning; set aside.
- Grill burgers until internal temperature reaches 160 degrees F, about 5 minutes per side. Brush with some of the Cajun seasoned BBQ sauce mixture the last couple minutes of cooking time.
- Serve on butter toasted burger buns topped with more of the Cajun seasoned BBQ sauce mixture, French fried onions, and coleslaw, if desired.
