Mashed Rutabaga and Red Potatoes





Serves 10-12
Ingredients:
| 3 lb. B-size red potatoes, quartered |
| 4 cups rutabaga, peeled and chopped |
| 1 onion, chopped |
| 1 tablespoon salt, plus 2 teaspoons, divided |
| 1/2 cup heavy cream or half and half |
| 4 oz. cream cheese, softened |
| 1/2 cup butter |
| Freshly ground black pepper |
Directions:
- In a large sauce pan or stockpot, combine potatoes, rutabaga, onion, and 1 Tbsp. salt; add water to cover. Bring to a boil over high heat; reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 15 minutes or until tender. Drain well.
- Add remaining salt, heavy cream, cream cheese, butter, and a dash of pepper. Mash together and season to taste with salt and pepper; serve hot.
