King's Hawaiian Sausage Egg Bake





Serves 12 Servings
Ingredients:
| 1 Pound Festival's Signature ground pork sausage or Italian sausage |
| 1 cup chopped onion |
| 8 cups (1- 10 oz. bag) King's Hawaiian Stuffing Mix |
| 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese |
| 12 large eggs |
| 4 cups milk |
| 1 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt |
| 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper |
| 2 teaspoons ground dry mustard. |
Directions:
- Place sausage and onion in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown. Drain and set aside.
- Layer bread cubes, sausage, and cheddar cheese in a lightly greased 9x13-inch baking dish. In a bowl, beat together the eggs, milk, seasoned salt and pepper, and dry mustard. Pour the egg mixture over the bread cube mixture. Cover, and refrigerate at least 8 hours or overnight.
- Remove the casserole from the refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. bake 50-60 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
- *Chef's note: for an optional flavor variation, try adding 1 (8 oz.) package sliced fresh mushrooms and 1 cup chopped red bell pepper to the sausage mixture.
