|1 cup sugar|
|1/2 cup water|
|1 cup heavy whipping cream|
|8 tablespoon unsalted butter melted|
|1 teaspoon kosher salt|
- Combine sugar and water in a heavy saucepan. Stir over medium low heat until sugar dissolves.
- Increase heat to medium high and boil without stirring the mixture until the syrup becomes a deep amber color. Add heavy whipping cream (caramel will become firm). Reduce heat and stir continuously until the caramel is completely melted.
- Remove from heat and add the melted butter and salt and stir to completely mix the sauce.
- Serve over waffles or ice cream.
