Ingredients:
1/2 Package Wonton Wrappers, cut into triangles
1/2 lb Ground Spicy Pork Sausage or Ground Spicy Plant-Based Meat
1/2 Package Pepperoni or Turkey Pepperoni
2 Cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
1/2 Cup Banana Pepper Rings
Vegetable or Canola oil, for frying
Marinara Sauce, for dipping
Parmesan Cheese, optional, for serving
Directions:
- Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the spicy pork sausage or plant-based meat and cook until cooked through, about 8 minutes. Set aside.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cut the wonton wrappers in half, diagonally. Once the oil is hot, add 6-8 wonton wrappers and fry for about 30 seconds, flipping halfway. Remove to a paper towel lined baking sheet to absorb the excess oil. Continue until all wonton wrappers have been fried.
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Assemble the nachos by lining the bottom of the baking sheet with the crispy wontons. Top with the shredded cheese then layer on the pork sausage / plant-based meat. Top with the pepperoni and banana peppers.
- Bake for 5-7 minutes or until the cheese has melted. Serve warm with marinara sauce on the side for dipping. Sprinkle the top with parmesan cheese (optional) before serving. Enjoy!
