Strawberry Puff Pastry Hearts





Ingredients:
+ Add All Ingredients to Shopping List
1 Sheet Puff Pastry, thawed+ Add to Shopping List |
Flour, for dusting+ Add to Shopping List |
1 Large Egg, whisked in a bowl+ Add to Shopping List |
2 oz Cream Cheese+ Add to Shopping List |
1/4 Cup Powdered Sugar+ Add to Shopping List |
1/2 Cup Heavy Whipping Cream+ Add to Shopping List |
1/2 Tsp Vanilla Extract+ Add to Shopping List |
5-6 Strawberries, sliced or chopped+ Add to Shopping List |
1/4 Cup Chocolate Chips, for topping+ Add to Shopping List |
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Lightly flour your counter and unfold the puff pastry. Use a heart shaped cookie cutter to cut out 10 heart shapes from the dough. Place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Prick each heart with a fork and brush with an egg wash.
- Bake for 9-10 minutes then remove from the oven and let cool completely.
- While the pastries cool, prepare the whipped cream. Beat together the cream cheese and powdered sugar in the bowl of a stand mixer. Add the heavy whipping cream and vanilla and beat until stiff peaks form.
- Add to a piping bag or Ziploc bag and snip off the corn.
- Pipe onto 5 of the heart pastries.
- Top with sliced or chopped strawberries.
- Add a little dollop of whipped cream to the center of the strawberries and place one of the other heart pastries on top (the dollop will help hold together). You will have a total of 5 completed pastries.
- Heat the chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl in 30 second intervals, stirring in between, until completely melted. Drizzle over the top of each heart pastry.
- Serve immediately and enjoy! Best to consume same day.
