Yellow Rice

Serves 2


Ingredients:

2 cups uncooked rice
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon turmeric
1 tablespoon sugar
1 cup seedless raisins, (optional)
1 tablespoon butter
2 cups water

Directions:

  1. Add all the ingredients, except the raisins, into a large pot and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer, and cook covered, for 15 minutes. Stir in raisins, if using, and continue cooking on low heat covered, for another 15 minutes or until rice is tender.
  2. Remove from the stove and transfer into a dish. Serve with the Bobotie immediately.
