Smoked Gouda Wontons





Serves 4-6
Ingredients:

12 wonton wraps+ Add to Shopping List |
12 smoked gouda chunks, cut teaspoon size+ Add to Shopping List |
1 egg, beaten in a cup with brush+ Add to Shopping List |
Festival's Sweet & Spicy BBQ Sauce+ Add to Shopping List |
Peanut oil+ Add to Shopping List |
Salt+ Add to Shopping List |
Directions:
- Lay wonton wraps on counter, place gouda in center along with 1/2 teaspoon BBQ sauce, brush egg wash over 2 sides like a 90° angle and fold corners together, pressing well to seal completely.
- Heat 1 inch of peanut oil in pan to 350 degrees F. Carefully place wontons in oil, a few at a time. Too many will cool the oil down and that's not good! Turn when one side is nice and brown, continue cooking until other side is done. Remove with tongs and place on paper towel, sprinkle with salt immediately.
- Serve right away or keep them in a warm oven until ready to eat. Best to fill wontons just before frying.
