Grilled Apple Walnut Bacon Cheddar Sandwich

Serves 4


Ingredients:

8 slices Taste of Scandinavia Apple Walnut Bread
8 slices Sharp or Smoked Cheddar Cheese
8 slices bacon, cooked crisp and drained on paper towels
1 large Honeycrisp Apple, cored and thinly sliced, divided
Butter, for toasting

Directions:

  1. Place 1 slice of cheddar cheese on 4 slices of Taste of Scandinavia Apple Walnut Bread. Top cheese with 2 crumbled pieces of the bacon and 1/4 of the apple slices. Top with remaining 4 slices cheddar cheese and close together with remaining 4 pieces of Apple Walnut Bread.
  2. Melt butter in a large nonstick skillet and toast 2 sandwiches at a time, over medium heat, about 5 minutes per side. Add more butter, as needed, and toast remaining 2 sandwiches.
  3. Transfer to platter and let sandwiches rest 3 minutes before cutting in half. Serve hot.
