Ingredients:
8 Tbsp Butter, plus more for greasing skillet, softened
1 1/4 Cups Flour
1/2 Tsp Baking Powder
1/2 Tsp Baking Soda
1/2 Tsp Salt
1 Large Egg
1/2 Cup Light Brown Sugar, packed
1/4 Cup Sugar
1 Tbsp Milk
1 1/2 Tsp Vanilla Extract
3/4 Cup Chocolate Chips, plus more for topping
Vanilla Ice Cream, for serving
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Add the butter to a stainless-steel saucepan. Melt over medium heat and continue to heat for about 5-6 minutes, until the butter starts to brown, whisking constantly. Remove from the heat and pour into a large mixing bowl to cool.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
Once the browned butter has cooled, add the brown sugar, sugar, vanilla extract, milk, and egg. Whisk together.
Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir to combine. Add ¾ cup chocolate chips and stir to combine.
Generously coat the bottom and sides of the cast iron skillet with softened butter.
Add the batter to the skillet and use a spatula or your fingers to gently spread the batter to the sides. You want the batter to be in an even layer and fill the skillet completely. Top with additional chocolate chips.
Bake for 17-20 minutes or until the edges are slightly browned and the inside is cooked through.
Cool for 5-10 minutes, then slice and serve or enjoy right out of the skillet. Top with vanilla ice cream for an ala mode cookie. Enjoy!
