Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 9x13 glass pan.
Add the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg to a large mixing bowl and whisk to combine. Set aside.
Add the oil, sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla to the bowl of a stand mixer. Beat to combine. Add the apple sauce, grated apple, and sour cream, and beat to combine.
Slowly add the flour mixture and mix to combine, scraping down the sides as needed.
Pour into the prepared pan and bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Set on the counter and cool completely.
Once cool, make the cream cheese frosting. Add the butter to the bowl of a stand mixer and beat until soft. Add the cream cheese and beat until combined and no lumps remain.
Add the powdered sugar, one cup at a time, and beat until well combined. Add the heavy cream and continue to mix until the desired consistency is reached.
Add to the top of the cake and spread to the sides. Top with chopped walnuts.
Slice and serve. Enjoy!
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge. Bring to room temperature before eating leftovers.
