Honey Garlic Chicken Sloppy Joes

Ingredients:
1 lb Ground Chicken
1 Medium Yellow Onion, diced
2/3 Cup Honey
2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
2 Tbsp Distilled White Vinegar
1 Tbsp Minced Garlic
1 Tsp Salt
1 Tsp Black Pepper
1/4 Cup Water
1 Tbsp Cornstarch
4 Hamburger Buns
8 Slices Cheddar Cheese
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and onions and cook until the chicken is cooked through, crumbling as it cooks, and the onions are translucent.
- In a small mixing bowl, combing the honey, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, salt, and pepper. Once the chicken is cooked through, add the sauce to the pan and stir to combine.
- Bring to a boil. Combine the water and cornstarch in a separate mixing bowl. Add the cornstarch mixture and stir to combine. Reduce the heat to medium. Continue to cook for an additional 3-5 minutes or until the sauce thickens.
- While the sauce thickens, lay the buns on the baking sheet, open faced. Add a slice of cheese to each bun. Place in the oven for 3-5 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the buns are toasted.
- Evenly divide the chicken mixture between the bottom buns and place the top buns on top. Serve and enjoy!
