Ingredients:

2 lbs lean ground beef, or turkey+ Add to Shopping List |
1 cup each yellow onion, finely chopped+ Add to Shopping List |
2 ribs celery, finely chopped+ Add to Shopping List |
3 teaspoons minced garlic+ Add to Shopping List |
Seasoned salt, to taste+ Add to Shopping List |
3 oz. Real bacon bits+ Add to Shopping List |
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce+ Add to Shopping List |
1 can original Manwich Sloppy Joe Sauce+ Add to Shopping List |
1 can Chicken Gumbo Soup+ Add to Shopping List |
1 cup ketchup+ Add to Shopping List |
1 tablespoon Mustard+ Add to Shopping List |
1 tablespoon Brown sugar+ Add to Shopping List |
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese, for topping+ Add to Shopping List |
1 cup green bell pepper, finely chopped+ Add to Shopping List |
Pepper, to taste+ Add to Shopping List |
Directions:
- Preheat large saute pan over medium-heat. Brown ground beef or turkey, breaking up into small pieces. Add onion, bell peppers, celery, and garlic and sprinkle with seasoned salt and pepper and sauté until veggies are translucent, about 10 minutes.
- Add remaining ingredients except cheese and bring to a boil*. Reduce heat and simmer 20 to 30 minutes, covered.
- Adjust seasoning, to taste, and serve large spoonfuls of Sloppy Joe filling on butter-toasted buns topped with a sprinkling of shredded sharp cheddar cheese.
