Directions:
- Let ham sit on the counter for 2-3 hours before cooking to allow it to reach room temperature.
- Whist together all ingredients, except the butter, in a medium saucepan.
- Bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer over medium heat, stir often.
- Continue to simmer for about 15 minutes until thickened and reduced.
- Stir in butter.
- Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Move the oven rack to the lowest position.
- Pour 2 cups of water in the bottom of a roasting pan and place the rack inside the pan.
- Roll out a large piece of aluminum foil and place the ham on it. Brush the glaze all over the ham and inside each slice.
- Tightly wrap the ham in the foil and place on the roasting rack.
- Bake for about 2 hours.
- Remove the ham from the oven and increase the temperature to 400 degrees.
- Fold back the aluminum foil and add more glaze. Keep the ham unwrapped but place back in the oven for another 15-20 minutes, or until the glaze starts to caramelize.
- Remove the ham from the oven and brush with the rest of the glaze.
- Loosely cover with foil and allow to sit for 15 minutes.
- Finish slicing and serve.
