General Tso’s Ground Chicken





Ingredients:
+ Add All Ingredients to Shopping List
1 lb Ground Chicken+ Add to Shopping List |
8 oz Can Water Chestnuts, diced+ Add to Shopping List |
1 Tbsp Vegetable Oil+ Add to Shopping List |
1 Tbsp Fresh Ginger, minced+ Add to Shopping List |
1/2 Tsp Red Pepper Flakes+ Add to Shopping List |
3 Garlic Cloves, minced+ Add to Shopping List |
4 1/2 Tbsp Rice Vinegar+ Add to Shopping List |
4 1/2 Tbsp Soy Sauce+ Add to Shopping List |
3 Tsp Hoisin Sauce+ Add to Shopping List |
1/4 Cup Water+ Add to Shopping List |
4 1/2 Tbsp Sugar+ Add to Shopping List |
1 1/2 Tbsp Cornstarch+ Add to Shopping List |
Directions:
- In a large bowl, add the rice vinegar, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, water, sugar, and cornstarch. Whisk together. Set aside.
- Add the vegetable oil, ground chicken and water chestnuts (drained). Heat over medium heat. Cook until the chicken is cooked through, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- Add the ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes. Continue to cook for 1 minute.
- Add the liquid mixture and stir to coat. Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer and absorb into the chicken, stirring frequently, for 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from the heat and serve warm over a bed of rice. Enjoy!
