If you’ve ever found yourself craving Wendy’s famous chili, you know there’s something irresistible about its savory, slightly spicy, comfort-food goodness. Luckily, you don’t have to brave the drive-thru to enjoy it at home! This copycat Wendy’s chili recipe brings together a hearty mix of ground beef, beans, and tender vegetables, all simmered in a rich, tomato-based sauce seasoned with chili powder, cumin, and garlic. Topped with shredded cheese and paired with your favorite crackers, it’s the perfect cozy meal for any day that calls for a little warmth in a bowl.

The recipe can be found here.

Start by heating the oil in a large pot over medium heat. Then, add the onion, pepper, and celery. Cook until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the tomato paste and stir to combine then cook for about 1 minute.

Add the ground beef and cook until cooked through, making sure to break apart as it cooks. Drain the grease from the pan – this is completely optional but recommended.

Season with chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Stir to combine.

Add the entire can of crushed tomatoes then fill the can about halfway with water, swirl around to get all the tomato off the sides and pour into the pot. Add both cans of beans (this includes the liquid from the cans) and stir to combine.

Bring the chili to a boil then reduce the heat to simmer and let cook for about 40 minutes. Stir occasionally.

To serve, ladle into bowls and garnish with shredded cheese and a few crackers. Enjoy!

Leftovers should be cooled completely and stored in an airtight container in the fridge, or you can freeze to enjoy later.

The recipe can be found here.

With just a few simple ingredients and a bit of simmering, you can bring the iconic taste of Wendy’s chili right into your own kitchen. This copycat version is hearty, flavorful, and perfect for cozy nights, game days, or anytime you need a little comfort in a bowl. Top it with shredded cheese, grab some crackers, and enjoy a classic favorite—homemade, satisfying, and ready to warm you from the inside out.

Happy Cooking!
