4 Apples, Granny Smith for more tart or Honeycrisp for sweeter
2 Tbsp Unsalted Butter
1/3 Cup Brown Sugar, packed
1/2 Tsp Cinnamon
1/4 Tsp Nutmeg
Directions:
Peel and core each apple then slice into ¼-inch pieces. If the slices are too thick, they won’t tenderize nicely. If the slices are too thin, they will become mushy.
Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the sliced apples and stir to coat. Let cook for 2-3 minutes.
Add the brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg and stir to combine. Reduce the heat to low and let simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are tender and easily pierced with a fork. Remove from the heat.
Divide between bowls, top with a scoop of ice cream, serve, and enjoy!
