Gridiron Grub
The Super Bowl is fast approaching. Are you ready for it? Do you plan to watch? Personally, I’m not watching for the game. I like to see the commercials and eat some good food with friends. And every year I like to create some tasty new recipes for our gathering. This year, my recipes are all appetizer/snack based, are easy to make, great finger foods for a crowd, something the kids will like, and make good leftovers. Here is what I have for you: Bacon Wrapped Potato Wedges Mini Chicken Cordon Bleu Sliders Taco Seasoned Oyster Crackers Mini Cheeseburger Bites Let’s walk through how to make each recipe: BACON WRAPPED POTATO WEDGES This is a simple recipe that combines popular ingredients to create a wonderful finger food. The potatoes are soft and tender, the bacon is salty and crisp, and the dipping sauce brings it all together. It’s like a baked potato you eat with your hands 😊 The nice … Continue reading

Bacon Wrapped Appetizers
Bacon wrapped anything is good, but a variety of bacon wrapped appetizers to serve at a holiday gathering or tailgating party is even better! You and your guests will devour each recipe I’m going to share with you today. I don’t remember when the “bacon craze” started but it seems to be sticking around, and I’m here for it! These recipes are all fairy easy to make, can be made ahead of time, are bite-sized / finger foods, and make a decent amount so you shouldn’t have to double or triple the recipes (but you can if you want). Here are the recipes and we’ll walk through how to make each one: Glazed Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts Bacon Wrapped Tater Tot Cups Brown Sugar Bacon Crackers Parmesan Bacon Crackers Brown Sugar Bacon Wrapped Lit’l Smokies One thing I want to point out is you want to use normal, everyday bacon that is thin or … Continue reading

Thanksgiving Sides
Thanksgiving is right around the corner and I’m starting to plan my menu. Do you feel prepared? I think most families have a list of recipes they make every year and traditionally serve and aren’t necessarily looking for new recipes. For example, my mom makes 2 turkeys every year. One goes on the grill, and one goes in the oven. Both are delicious and there is always a ton of meat to go around. Everyone (and I mean immediate family, cousins, aunts, uncles, etc.) looks forward to her cooking every year. My point is that she isn’t looking for a new turkey recipe. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Or in this case, if no one is complaining about the food, why make something else? 😊 BUT…there is always room for more sides or different sides. Are you assigned to bring something this year? Perhaps you are hosting Friendsgiving and aren’t sure what to make. Or you simply want to change things up a … Continue reading

Game Day!
Are you ready for some football? Getting together with family and friends on the weekend is a fun and spirited way to celebrate fall while cheering on your favorite team. There are so many games to watch and plenty of creative food options to choose from. We are gearing up for the big Viking / Packer game this weekend so I wanted to share some of our favorite football snacks. These were a hit for past games so I’m sure there will be some repeats for the game this weekend! I am not someone who can pass up sweets so I started with the most important part…dessert 🙂 I made chocolate covered strawberries and chocolate covered Oreos that I decorated to look like little footballs. Both are super easy to make! Start by lining 2 baking sheets with wax paper (this helps with easy clean-up too). Then melt 1 package … Continue reading
