French Toast Bake combines all your favorite French Toast flavors in one baking dish that is easy to make and delicious to eat!  It’s a favorite make-ahead breakfast dish in my household.  You prep the French Toast Bake the night before, refrigerate overnight, and bake and enjoy in the morning.  Super easy with no fuss!

The recipe can be found here.

Start by cutting the bread into 1-inch pieces.  I like to use either sourdough or French bread.  You can buy pre-sliced bread or whole bread.  Then place the bread pieces in a greased 9×13 pan.  You want the bread to be layered pretty evenly.

In a mixing bowl, combine the eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla.  Pour the mixture evenly over the bread, making sure to coat every piece.

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and place in the fridge overnight.

In a separate mixing bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.  Add the cubed butter and use a pastry cutter to combine the butter into the dry mixture.  It will be crumbly but that’s ok!

Pour the mixture into a Ziploc bag and place in the fridge overnight.  It’s one less step you have to do in the AM!

In the morning, remove the baking dish from the fridge.  Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.  Sprinkle the crumble mixture evenly over the top.

Bake at 350 degrees for 45-60 minutes.  Check the French Toast Bake at 45 minutes to see how firm it is.  If it’s too soft, continue to bake.  If it’s your desired consistency, stop baking.  It really depends on if you want the bread to be a little crispy or a little soft.

Serve warm with maple syrup.  Yum!  It’s a classic breakfast item with a buttery combination of cinnamon and sugar.

Happy Cooking!
