With just a handful of pantry staples—like unsalted butter, garlic, and a touch of flour for thickening—you can whip up a creamy, flavorful sauce in no time. Whether you’re serving it with spaghetti, penne, or any pasta of your choice, this sauce is sure to become a staple in your kitchen. Garnished with a sprinkle of Parmesan and extra fresh basil, it’s the perfect way to elevate any meal.

The recipe can be found here.

Start by preparing your ingredients; chop the tomatoes and basil, mince the garlic.  Set both aside.

Bring a pot of salted water to a boil.  Cook the noodles according to package instructions.  Drain and set aside. Reserve ¼ cup of the pasta water to use in the sauce.  You can toss the noodles with a little olive oil to prevent them from sticking while you prepare the sauce if needed.

Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.  Add the tomatoes and cook until warmed through and the juices are starting to release.  Add the olive oil, garlic salt, salt, pepper, and basil, and stir to combine.

Add the flour and mix until well incorporated.  Bring to a slow simmer and continue to cook until the mixture thickens, about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.  Add the pasta water and garlic and stir to combine.  Simmer for another 5 minutes.

Add the noodles to plates or bowls.  Ladle the sauce over the top.  Garnish with parmesan cheese and chopped basil.  Serve warm and enjoy!
