Time to break out our favorite summer recipes and begin shopping for Memorial Day weekend groceries for the unofficial beginning of summer. Most likely the weather won’t feel like summer but we won’t care because we will have some great food to enjoy. And there must be guacamole, right?
One meal of the weekend will be a slow roasted beef brisket, simple to prepare and provides a great atmosphere to relax with some beer and wine while it’s roasting. To roast it slow and low heat you want to order an untrimmed whole beef brisket from our meat counter, trimming the fat would cause you to lose the moist and tender texture of the beef. A simple dry rub of equal portions of Kosher salt and fresh ground black pepper and a small amount of paprika over the entire brisket. We’re going to roast in a roasting box but the brisket can be cooked in a grill or in your oven if the weather doesn’t cooperate, but remember low heat and slow!
If we’re having beef brisket, we’re going to have to make some bacon jam for a not to miss condiment, bacon jam is also perfect on burgers, grilled cheese sandwiches and anything else we can think of, we love this stuff!
If you’re looking for an easy lunch, one of our favorites is our grilled Chicken brats Philly Cheesesteak flavor or Fajita flavored, our chicken brats are a 1/3 lb. each and absolutely delicious served on one of our fresh baked buns.
There is something about a summer weekend that sweet corn seems essential and our new favorite recipe is Corn with Manchego and Chives, a great side dish with refreshing flavors.
A super easy meal is our Deluxe Griller Sandwich available in our stores on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, conveniently order ahead at this link for a quick meal sure to please.
Let’s face it you’re going to need the sweet finishes for the weekend and we have our eye on the Strawberry Rhubarb pie in our bakery and of course a pan of frosted brownies!
Our easy order on line – pick up at store service is simple to use, you may also choose our delivery option, grocery shopping from the comfort of your home or office so please explore, click, and collect.
Have a safe and enjoyable weekend, Lauri
