Air Fryer Toasted Ravioli is my newest weeknight creation.  It’s delicious as an appetizer or can be served as a meal, is crispy, crunchy, perfectly seasoned, and has plenty of melted cheese.  What’s not to love?  I personally like the Air Fryer version because it’s not deep fried and coated in oil but still has great flavor.  Pair it with your favorite marinara or alfredo sauce for dipping and you are ready to dig in!

This is a recipe you will need to cook in batches.  My Air Fryer only held 4-5 ravioli at a time, so I ended up doing 3 cooking cycles.  If you have a larger Air Fryer, you might be able to fit more ravioli at a time, but you will want to plan for cook time.  The recipe isn’t hard to make or incredibly time consuming to prepare but you will have down time as the Air Fryer cooks each batch.  So, pour a glass of wine and start cooking!

The recipe can be found here.

Start by bringing a pot of water to a boil.  Add the fresh ravioli and boil for 3 minutes.  Use a slotted spoon to remove to a plate or bowl and set aside.  I have only made this recipe using fresh (store-bought, refrigerated) ravioli.  If you want to try frozen, feel free, but know that it might not have the same taste and texture as fresh once cooked in the Air Fryer.

Add the breadcrumbs, oregano, basil, thyme, salt, pepper, and 2 Tbsp of parmesan cheese to a bowl.  Mix to combine and set aside.

Add the egg, water, and flour to a separate mixing bowl.  Mix to combine and set aside.

Create an assembly line.  Start with the cooked ravioli, then the egg mixture, then the breadcrumb mixture, and end with an empty plate.  Dip one ravioli in the egg mixture and use your fingers or a fork to let the excess mixture drip off.  Then place in the breadcrumb mixture and coat completely.  Shake off any excess breadcrumbs and place on the empty plate.  Repeat until all ravioli have been coated.  I suggest using your fingers (a little messy) or a fork.  Tongs might work for you, but I found the ravioli kept slipping out of the grip, so they weren’t working for me.

Preheat the oven to 225 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.  You are going to use the oven to keep the ravioli warm while cooking the next batch(es).

Spray the Air Fryer basket with cooking spray.  Place 4-5 ravioli (or however many will fit) in the basket, making sure they are not touching.  Lightly spritz the top of the ravioli with cooking spray.  Air Fry at 375 degrees F for 4 minutes then flip over, lightly spritz with cooking spray again, and Air Fry at 375 degrees F for an additional 3 minutes.  Remove to the prepared baking sheet and place in the oven to keep warm while you work on the next batch.

Once all the ravioli has been Air Fried, transfer to a serving platter and garnish with grated parmesan cheese.  Serve warm with marinara or alfredo sauce on the side for dipping.  Enjoy!

The recipe can be found here.

It’s a fun and somewhat healthier option for dinner 😊

Happy Cooking!
