Cupid’s Cocktails & Confections
Valentine’s Day is a few short days away. Do you have plans or know how you’re going to celebrate? A lot of people have set traditions each year and like to go out to dinner or prepare a fun meal at home with their friends and/or loved ones. We prefer staying in and making a meal at home. We feel less rushed, it’s fun to cook together, and we can make something special to celebrate the holiday. Two things I like to focus on when creating new Valentine’s Day recipes is desserts and cocktails. Both will enhance your dinner and make the event more memorable and are required to complete the meal (in my opinion). So, let’s walk through my new recipes and hopefully something will catch your eye to prepare for Valentine’s (or Galantine’s) Day! I’m going to start with the cocktails because 1) they are easy to make, 2) they are delicious, and 3) you need … Continue reading

Individual Dessert Cup 2.0
I previously posted a blog called Individual Dessert Cups where I discuss easy, no bake desserts that are mini-sized and served in 2oz cups. They are perfect for a holiday gathering (especially with Christmas and NYE coming up) or would make great treats for a birthday party, picnic, or even a bake sale. I think they are JUST the right size to satisfy your sweet tooth yet are small enough that you can have more than one without feeling bad about overindulging. You can make them in a variety of flavors, complete with cookie base, creamy filling, and themed toppings. Here are the recipes I’ll be walking you through today: Individual Cookies & Cream Dessert Cups Individual Strawberry Cheesecake Dessert Cups Individual Pumpkin Spice Dessert Cups Let’s start with Individual Cookies & Cream Dessert Cups. These are easy to make, delicious, and perfect for any Oreo lover! There is an Oreo crust, creamy … Continue reading

That’s why I want to share with you a few recipes for QUICK yet delicious holiday treats. Chocolate is involved (lots of chocolate is involved). And the kids can help with decorating if you need an extra hand or 2. Cookies Galore
Spring will be over before you know it and as we get into the summer months, you might be looking for something fun for the kids to do over summer break. Why not make a fresh batch of cookies? (And then send them outside to recover from the sugar rush) 😊 There is nothing like fresh baked cookies, right out of the oven. I always have to sample one off the baking sheet (for quality control purpose) before they are even cooled enough to transfer to a cooling rack. Am I a monster? Yes. But so are the 1st cookies I want to share with you today 😊 Monster Cookies are giant in size and truly the best! They are loaded with peanut butter, oats, butterscotch chips, chocolate chips, and M&M’s, so you are essentially combining aspects of your favorite cookie into one super-sized cookie. They are thick, chewy, and a crowd pleaser! The recipe can be found here. Start by … Continue reading

National Pretzel Day
Today is National Pretzel Day. I know, there is a special day for virtually everything these days, but in times like these, it’s fun to have something to look forward to! A bag of crunchy pretzels works just fine to celebrate with but I’m thinking a chewy and warm pretzel is the way to go. Soft pretzels are my favorite treat! I don’t make them often but when I do, I always wonder why I don’t make them more often…. it’s a vicious cycle. However you plan on celebrating is up to you, but I do want to share a few recipes with you to try. Homemade Soft Pretzels w/ Spicy Mustard Dipping Sauce Homemade Soft Pretzel Bites w/ Beer Cheese Sauce Buffalo Cheddar Soft Pretzel Twists Homemade Soft Pretzels w/ Spicy Mustard Dipping Sauce are soft, chewy, warm, and have a wonderful butter flavor. Fan Favorite Food
Are you ready for some football…and delicious food? Snacks and appetizers served during a football game need to be fit for a crowd and easy to eat. Think finger foods, grab-and-go, quick and easy…. foods that don’t draw your attention away from the game for too long – you don’t want to miss any big plays! We’re hosting a football part this week and will be serving the following items: Football Pretzel Rods Individual Chicken Taco Bowls Loaded Tater Tot Kabobs Mini Football Pizzas Dessert Football Pretzel Rods are super simple to make and a crowd favorite! Plus, pretzels are such a common snack food so you can’t go wrong. I like to pick team colors or traditional football colors (or think seasonably if making these for a holiday gathering). Everyone is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day
If you are having a hard time deciding what to make for St Patrick’s Day, I can help! There are some really great recipes out there whether you are hosting a party or enjoying a quiet meal at home. I want to share my take on St Patrick’s Day and the menu I plan on serving. I’m sticking with a “green theme” for my menu and serving mostly food that is…green. The menu is not necessarily traditional Irish food but is fun and festive for the occasion! The menu consists of the following: Avocado Ranch Dip with Veggies Reuben Sandwich Rachel Sandwich Decorative Pretzel Rods Frozen Grasshopper, for the adults Mint Green Shake, for the kids The Avocado Ranch Dip is delicious! It’s light, tangy, and perfectly salted. You combine the ingredients in the food processor until smooth and serve with veggies. I only plated green veggies to keep … Continue reading

Homemade Soft Pretzel Bites
Do you ever crave those soft, chewy, irresistible smelling soft pretzels you get from street vendors or mall kiosks? If so, you’re in luck! I have a recipe for Homemade Soft Pretzel Bites that is a perfect replica. These Homemade Pretzel Bites have a perfectly doughy center, crispy crust, and buttery and salty flavor. They are fun to make and fun to eat. Great for dipping – the perfect finger food! A bit of work is required to make these but it’s worth it. They are SO good right out of the oven. The recipe can be found here. Start by preparing the dough. I recommend using a stand mixer if you have one. You can mix the dough by hand, but your arms will be quite sore! Add the water, brown sugar, yeast, and butter to the bowl of a stand mixer and let sit for 5 minutes. Add … Continue reading
