Chicken Sloppy Joes
Sloppy Joes seem to be a family tradition in many households but we always forget about them when deciding what to have for dinner. They are quick and easy to make, yet fairly inexpensive because you tend to have many of the ingredients already in your pantry. And for those of you with kids, they tend to be a kid-friendly option even for the picky child, so it’s a win for everyone. Needless to say, now that we’ve made them once they will become a recurring meal in our house. I don’t eat red meat so I like to use ground chicken instead. Ground chicken tends to have a little less fat and little more protein than ground beef so it’s also a slightly healthier option. The consistency between the ground chicken and ground beef is very similar, or so I’m told by Andrew because he’s the only one that would … Continue reading

Everything Spice
One of my favorite seasonings is Everything Spice. It’s a combination of toasty, salty, and savory that makes every bite that much more delicious. And it goes on, well, everything! I understand this recipe can be daunting but trust me…it’s delicious! The cheese oozes out as you take your first bite, the buffalo sauce adds the perfect amount of heat, and the everything spice adds a salty flavor. You really can’t go wrong with these … Continue reading

Crowd Food
Tender beef, butter, onions, Lawry’s seasoned salt and fresh French bread, the makings of our Tender Beef and Cheese Sandwich, a hearty sandwich that’s crowd tested and approved. Grab those ingredients and away we go! Melt 2 Tbsp. of butter in a large skillet and add sliced onions, stir together. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until onions are soft and light brown (about 7-10 minutes). While the onions are cooking, slice the Cube steak, slice against—or perpendicular to—the grain. Season sliced cube steak with Lawry’s seasoning. Be generous as it offers a lot of flavor. Transfer the onions from the skillet to a plate. Now it’s time to cook the meat.Add 2 Tbsp. butter to the same skillet. Turn the heat to high, let the butter begin to brown. Add the meat to the hot skillet in a single layer. Do not stir. Fry until meat is browned on … Continue reading
