It’s hard to believe that summer is already coming to an end and it’s time to begin planning the Labor Day menu for the last hurrah of summer. Small bites to share are a great option to bring for potluck gatherings on the holiday weekend or to serve for a family buffet dinner. One of the most tasty bites we can think of are Mini Ham Sandwiches, a sweet and savory mix of flavors and…you can prepare them the night before. If you’re in the mood to do some frying and serve some hot bites, Beer Battered Cheese Curds or Fried Cream Cheese Wontons are very easy to prepare and always a favorite with family and friends. The cream cheese wontons are simple to assemble with wonton wrappers, a small dollop of cream cheese and a little water to moisten the edges of the wrappers when you fold them up. … Continue reading

Time to breakout the bun and enjoy some great burgers. Burgers are an easy dinner solution and so much better when you make them at home! First up is our Guacamole Burger, we think Guacamole is always welcome on the table and we like it chunky with nice large pieces of avocado. The fresh wild Halibut filets in our stores right now are fabulous, Halibut is delicious whether baked, sautéed, grilled, or broiled and I can’t get enough of it! My personal favorite recipe is Halibut with Leeks and Spinach! The prep is easy and don’t count on having leftovers because there will be clean plates! One thing I do not enjoy when preparing fish is removing the skin from the fish and our staff at the chefs counter will remove the skin for you if you ask them. If you’re looking to spice things up try fresh Halibut in a fish taco and chunky guacamole of course! All of our recipes are on our website www.festivalfoods.net on our cooking page.
