Ice Cream Pizzas!!!

Do you remember those yummy ice cream pizzas you probably had as a child at Dairy Queen? They came in multiple favors and were typically served at a party. They were my FAVORITE! And there was a time in my life that I believe they were discontinued, and I was admittedly bummed to never have one again. However, I was able to find a way to recreate them as copycat versions of the original. I have 3 recipes to share with you today for Copycat Treatzza Pizzas…I call them Ice Cream Pizza. M&M Ice Cream Pizza Heath Bar Ice Cream Pizza Peanut Butter Ice Cream Pizza Let’s start by walking through the M&M Ice Cream Pizza. You start with an Oreo crust, top it with vanilla ice cream, drizzle with hot fudge, and add M&M candies to finish it off. This is a classic ice cream dessert that’s incredibly … Continue reading

Soft & Chewy Cookies – Part 1

I like to consider myself a cookie connoisseur. I have a few favorite flavors but will not pass up another variety when asked 🙂 When it comes to cookies, you can separate them into 2 categories – crispy and chewy. But that’s just my opinion! Sometimes I want a cookie that is thin and crisp and sometimes I want a cookie that is thick and chewy, just depends on the day! The cookies I want to share with you today are incredible soft and chewy, and they are a new favorite in my house. Here are the recipes: Soft & Chewy Birthday Cookies Soft & Chewy Dirt Dessert Cookies Soft & Chewy Key Lime Pie Cookies Soft & Chewy Snickerdoodle Cookies Now let’s walk through how to make them. Each recipe makes 7-8 cookies, but they are decently sized cookies and can almost be shared based on how rich … Continue reading

Individual Cheesecakes

Cheesecake is one of my favorite desserts. It comes in a variety of flavors, can be fruity or sweet, and is usually a crowd pleaser. Mini cheesecakes are fun for a party or holiday because you can make a few different varieties, or perhaps make one plain batch but let your guests add their own toppings and have a simple yet delicious dessert. One of the recipes I want to share with you today is for Mini Salted Caramel Cheesecakes. If you like cheesecake and caramel, these are for you! The crust is a homemade graham cracker crust. The cheesecake has a creamy texture, sweet taste that might be considered a little rich to some, with a slight tanginess, which comes from the cream cheese. The mini cheesecakes are then doused in a generous amount of caramel sauce and sprinkled with salt. SO GOOD! The recipe can be found here. Start by preheating the oven to 350 … Continue reading

Cookies Galore

Spring will be over before you know it and as we get into the summer months, you might be looking for something fun for the kids to do over summer break. Why not make a fresh batch of cookies? (And then send them outside to recover from the sugar rush) 😊 There is nothing like fresh baked cookies, right out of the oven. I always have to sample one off the baking sheet (for quality control purpose) before they are even cooled enough to transfer to a cooling rack. Am I a monster? Yes. But so are the 1st cookies I want to share with you today 😊 Monster Cookies are giant in size and truly the best! They are loaded with peanut butter, oats, butterscotch chips, chocolate chips, and M&M’s, so you are essentially combining aspects of your favorite cookie into one super-sized cookie. They are thick, chewy, and a crowd pleaser! The recipe can be found here. Start by … Continue reading

Derby Day

Are you ready for the Kentucky Derby? It’s usually held on the first Saturday in May, making it this upcoming Saturday, May 7, 2022. A lot of people like to gather with friends and family to watch the races and enjoy some good food and drink. I believe it’s known as “the greatest two minutes of sports” so why not spend all day in the kitchen for 2 minutes of cheering pleasure? 😊 Kidding…it’s a very fun horse race to watch! I will be preparing the following items to enjoy during our viewing pleasure, and you might notice a theme… Kentucky (where the derby is held) and whiskey/bourbon (sponsors of the event and heavily influenced in the south). Kentucky Hot Brown Dip Whiskey Spiced Chicken Wings Kentucky Oaks Cocktail Maple Bourbon Candied Pecans Kentucky Hot Brown Dip is a rich a creamy dip that encompasses the wonderful ingredients and flavors of a … Continue reading

Easter Desserts

One of my favorite parts of Easter Brunch is the desserts 😊 Everything is decorated with bunnies, Peeps, little candy eggs, etc. It’s just so cute and festive! I love to explore and create new recipes using all the seasonal candies and that’s what I’m going to share with you today – dessert ideas for your Easter celebration. First up are Birds’ Nests. I’m sure you’ve seen these before for other holidays, sometimes referred to as Haystacks. These are super easy to make and only require a few ingredients. They are sweet, crunchy, and the perfect bite-sized treat! I have 2 different flavors, Chocolate and Peanut Butter. The Chocolate Birds’ Nests recipe can be found here. The Peanut Butter Birds’ Nests recipe can be found here. Let’s start with the Chocolate Birds’ Nests. Add the chocolate and peanut butter to a microwave safe bowl. Heat for 60 seconds, then stir. Heat for an additional 30 seconds and stir again. Continue … Continue reading

Luck of the Irish

St Patrick’s Day is fast approaching. Do you have plans to celebrate? I’m admittedly well past the years of bar hopping downtown to drink some mediocre green beer in an overcrowded bar…. I tend to opt for a more homebound celebration that involves some good food, maybe a cocktail or 2, and allows me to be in my jammies by 8pm 6pm 😊 This year, we are going to make the following recipes for our St Patrick’s Day dinner: Pot of Gold Mimosa Irish Soda Muffins Guinness Glazed Meatballs Irish Cream Brownies The Pot of Gold Mimosa is an elevated mimosa to be St Patrick’s Day themed. This is a cocktail I like to enjoy while making dinner as well as during dinner. It’s very light and refreshing. The recipe can be found here. Start by adding 3 oz of orange juice to a champagne glass. Next, add ½ oz of vodka (you can always skip the … Continue reading

Homestyle Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras is Tuesday, March 1st this year. I believe it always falls on the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday, signifying the end of Carnival season and the start of Lenten season, but please correct me if you are more knowledgeable on these details than I am 😊 Tuesdays aren’t usually something people get excited over, unless it’s Taco Tuesday, but Mardi Gras gives you something to look forward to. Each city celebrates differently, and I admittedly don’t know of any raging parties happening in the Twin Cities (yet) but that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate at home with a few close friends and family. We typically enjoy a themed meal or some apps and cocktails at home. This year, we’ll be starting with Sausage Bites with Spicy Cajun Dipping Sauce as an appetizer, then moving on to Cajun Turkey Burgers with Spicy Remoulade as our main course with King Cake Cream Cheese Bites … Continue reading

Valentine’s Day Treats

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching. Do you know how you are celebrating? They are so many options…spend time with a significant other or your kids, maybe a few close friends (think Galantine’s Day), or boycott the day all together 😊 Which I know some people like to do, and that’s OK! We tend to make a last-minute decision on how we will celebrate and some years we go out to eat and some years we stay in. With COVID and rising cases, we’ve been looking for more “at home” options to say safe and healthy. With that being said, I’m not prepared to talk about dinner options today 😊 but do have a few other Valentine’s Day themed treats to share with you. Homemade Valentine’s Day Pop Tarts Valentine’s Day S’mores Frosted Pink Sugar Cookie Bars Strawberry Lemonade Frosé Raspberry Pina Colada Homemade Valentine’s Day Pop Tarts are a favorite for us! They are basically homemade Pop Tarts that … Continue reading
