Homemade Buster Bar Ice Cream Dessert is one of those desserts you can’t get enough of!  It’s loaded with peanuts, vanilla ice cream, an Oreo crust, and a chocolatey-fudgy topping.  It’s perfect on a hot summer day…or really any day because ice cream isn’t limited to summer enjoyment 😊 It’s a dessert I would recommend for a dinner party or birthday party.  It has something for everyone, is filling, and will feed a crowd. The recipe can be found here. Start by softening the ice cream so it’s easier to work with.  Do this by placing the quart of ice cream on the counter for 15-20 minutes to soften while you prepare the other ingredients. Add the Oreos to the bowl of a food processor.  Pulse until you have fine crumbs.  Pour the crumbs into a mixing bowl and add 1 stick of melted butter.  Stir to combine.  The mixture will resemble wet sand.  Press this mixture into the bottom of … Continue reading

As colder weather sets in you are probably looking for something warm and filling to satisfy your cravings.  It is apple season (so move over pumpkin spice) and I think apple is one of the best flavors of the season because it pairs well with many dishes.  There are so many varieties of apples you are sure to find one that is your favorite and tastes great on a salad, or in a sandwich, or perhaps baked into a dessert. I like to create new recipes each fall that are themed around apples and have a few to share with you today: Slow Cooker Apple Cider Chicken & Apple Melts with Honey Mustard Gouda, Apple & Bacon Naan Flatbread Caramel Apple Cupcakes   Slow Cooker Apple Cider is completely homemade.  The base is water, you add chopped fruit and some mulling spices, turn on the slow cooker, and forget it overnight.  Your house will … Continue reading

Summer is officially over, and fall is officially here!  That means the temperatures are starting to drop, but it isn’t quite cold enough yet, to stop eating ice cream and enjoying some warmer weather treats.  Before you finally put away your ice cream maker for the year, try out these 3 new ice cream recipes I’m going to share with you today. Banana Ice Cream Salted Caramel Ice Cream Frosted Animal Cookie Ice Cream   Banana Ice Cream is rich, creamy, and has wonderful flavoring so don’t toss out those overly ripe bananas (and don’t save them for the banana bread you are never going to make, lol).  Turn them into Banana Ice Cream instead!  It’s delicious and tastes just banana pudding but in frozen form 😊 Banana is my dad’s favorite flavor to get in a shake or malt so I thought why not try making Banana Ice Cream that I can share with … Continue reading

It’s my favorite time of year!  The weather is starting to cool down, the leaves are starting to change, and you can find pumpkin spice at just about any store.  That’s what I’m talking about when I say my favorite time of year…. all things pumpkin spice.  I love the flavor, but I also love that it’s available for a limited time, so it’s something I look forward to enjoying. I like to create a few new recipes each year that are pumpkin spice themed.  Most are breakfast or dessert themed but that’s OK with me!  Pumpkin spice is a combination of nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice, and ginger.  It’s sweet, spicy, warm, and cozy.  Yes…cozy.  Think of the feeling you get when you drink a hot cup of apple cider on a cool day.  That’s a feeling I get when enjoying pumpkin spice food.  Even better, the pumpkin spice recipes I’m going to share with you today are hearty and filling, … Continue reading

Do you remember those yummy ice cream pizzas you probably had as a child at Dairy Queen?  They came in multiple favors and were typically served at a party.  They were my FAVORITE!  And there was a time in my life that I believe they were discontinued, and I was admittedly bummed to never have one again.  However, I was able to find a way to recreate them as copycat versions of the original. I have 3 recipes to share with you today for Copycat Treatzza Pizzas…I call them Ice Cream Pizza. M&M Ice Cream Pizza Heath Bar Ice Cream Pizza Peanut Butter Ice Cream Pizza   Let’s start by walking through the M&M Ice Cream Pizza.  You start with an Oreo crust, top it with vanilla ice cream, drizzle with hot fudge, and add M&M candies to finish it off.  This is a classic ice cream dessert that’s incredibly … Continue reading

Cheesecake is one of my favorite desserts.  It comes in a variety of flavors, can be fruity or sweet, and is usually a crowd pleaser.  Mini cheesecakes are fun for a party or holiday because you can make a few different varieties, or perhaps make one plain batch but let your guests add their own toppings and have a simple yet delicious dessert. One of the recipes I want to share with you today is for Mini Salted Caramel Cheesecakes.  If you like cheesecake and caramel, these are for you!  The crust is a homemade graham cracker crust.  The cheesecake has a creamy texture, sweet taste that might be considered a little rich to some, with a slight tanginess, which comes from the cream cheese.  The mini cheesecakes are then doused in a generous amount of caramel sauce and sprinkled with salt.  SO GOOD! The recipe can be found here. Start by preheating the oven to 350 … Continue reading

Spring will be over before you know it and as we get into the summer months, you might be looking for something fun for the kids to do over summer break.  Why not make a fresh batch of cookies?  (And then send them outside to recover from the sugar rush) 😊 There is nothing like fresh baked cookies, right out of the oven.  I always have to sample one off the baking sheet (for quality control purpose) before they are even cooled enough to transfer to a cooling rack.  Am I a monster?  Yes.  But so are the 1st cookies I want to share with you today 😊 Monster Cookies are giant in size and truly the best!  They are loaded with peanut butter, oats, butterscotch chips, chocolate chips, and M&M’s, so you are essentially combining aspects of your favorite cookie into one super-sized cookie.  They are thick, chewy, and a crowd pleaser! The recipe can be found here. Start by … Continue reading
