Air Fryer Blooming Onion
We don’t use our air fryer often but every now and again it’s fun to try a new recipe. This time we tried an Air Fryer Blooming Onion. A blooming onion is essentially a large onion that is sliced to resemble a flower, battered, deep fried, and served as an appetizer. My recipe removes the deep-frying step and has you air fry it instead. The batter creates this lovely crust that is crispy, the onion is tender, and the dipping sauce adds a nice tang to each bite. Beer Can Whole Grilled Chicken
Beer Can Whole Grilled Chicken is a fun way to cook chicken. You need a beer can chicken stand to do this. The stand along with the can of beer and chicken legs helps support the chicken on the grill, and the beer helps keep the chicken moist while grilling. I don’t taste a lot of beer flavor in the chicken but if this is a concern of yours, you could easily swap out the beer for a can of pop – any cola flavor will work well. Wing Time
If you read my last blog, you know how much we love sandwiches (or sliders) at our house. Another food we are obsessed with is chicken wings. They are so easy to make and can be pair with tons of different sauces to create different flavor combinations. I want to share with you 3 new chicken wing recipes that are inspired by Asian and Mexican dishes. Slow Cooker Pulled Chicken
Are you ever hosting a party or having a few guests over for dinner but don’t know what to serve? I always struggle with what to cook because I want my guests to enjoy the meal but also want time to socialize and not be stuck in the kitchen. Pulled chicken or pulled pork is always a good option. You can prepare it in the slow cooker so it’s no fuss, it feeds a crowd, and is great to serve for a build-your-own-sandwich bar. Or you can make it for yourself to enjoy for meals through the week or to freeze for later. Today, I want to share my 2 recipes for pulled chicken. Top o’ the Morning
St Patrick’s Day is fun day to celebrate, whether you are Irish or not. You can typically find a parade or two around town, Irish themed food and drinks at your favorite restaurant or bar, and plenty of people wearing green! It’s a festive day to celebrate and will unfortunately look a lot different this year due to COVID. BUT…that doesn’t mean you can’t still celebrate at home! We are going to celebrate by having breakfast for dinner. You don’t tend to hear of too many Irish breakfast foods but we’re going to make it work! The food doesn’t have to be Irish necessarily but can be themed to fit the event. In this case, we’re going to make Shamrock Cinnamon Rolls and Shamrock Fried Eggs. It’s Peanut Butter Jelly Time!
Growing up I always loved a good peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I mean, who didn’t? It was a staple in my daily life and it’s making a comeback. However, instead of sandwich form I’m pairing it with another food I love. What for it……chicken wings. Yes, peanut butter and jelly chicken wings. Christmas Dinner
Normally by mid-December we would have a plan for Christmas Eve dinner, Christmas Day brunch, and Christmas Day dinner…. it’s a busy 2 days to say the least! But we have zero plans scheduled at the moment. It’s an odd feeling and we know we are not along. Do you spend time with family and friends over the holidays or opt for a quiet day at home? Do you take the simple route and order a meal to go from your favorite restaurant or perhaps a heat-and-serve meal from the grocery store? Whatever you end up doing, it will be a year to remember! Christmas Baking
Christmas is a time for baking, enjoying good food, and spending time with family and friends. The holidays may look a little different this year but that doesn’t mean you can’t participate it some of your usual traditions. Take a cookie exchange party for example, you can still bake the cookies but instead of getting together with friends to exchange, you can deliver to their doorstep or ship them. It’s a nice way to say you’re thinking about them and still want to be connected this holiday season. Plus, you can’t have a happy holiday without desserts and plenty of sweets 🙂 Whether you are making breads, cookies, pies, candy, or other goodies, I suggest you still follow through with your traditions.
