I like to consider myself a cookie connoisseur.  I have a few favorite flavors but will not pass up another variety when asked 🙂 When it comes to cookies, you can separate them into 2 categories – crispy and chewy. But that’s just my opinion!  Sometimes I want a cookie that is thin and crisp and sometimes I want a cookie that is thick and chewy, just depends on the day!  The cookies I want to share with you today are incredible soft and chewy, and they are a new favorite in my house.  Here are the recipes: Soft & Chewy Birthday Cookies Soft & Chewy Dirt Dessert Cookies Soft & Chewy Key Lime Pie Cookies Soft & Chewy Snickerdoodle Cookies   Now let’s walk through how to make them.  Each recipe makes 7-8 cookies, but they are decently sized cookies and can almost be shared based on how rich … Continue reading

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching.  Do you know how you are celebrating?  They are so many options…spend time with a significant other or your kids, maybe a few close friends (think Galantine’s Day), or boycott the day all together 😊 Which I know some people like to do, and that’s OK!  We tend to make a last-minute decision on how we will celebrate and some years we go out to eat and some years we stay in.  With COVID and rising cases, we’ve been looking for more “at home” options to say safe and healthy. With that being said, I’m not prepared to talk about dinner options today 😊 but do have a few other Valentine’s Day themed treats to share with you. Homemade Valentine’s Day Pop Tarts Valentine’s Day S’mores Frosted Pink Sugar Cookie Bars Strawberry Lemonade Frosé Raspberry Pina Colada   Homemade Valentine’s Day Pop Tarts are a favorite for us!  They are basically homemade Pop Tarts that … Continue reading

Can you believe it?  Easter is right around the corner.  With all that is going on in the world these days I’m starting to lose track of time.  What is typically a day of family and friends gathering together will most likely be spend apart or perhaps in very small groups.  This puts quite the strain on menu planning when you won’t be hosting, won’t be attending the usual get-together, or are just trying to maintain social distance. Not to worry – I won’t let you know down!  I have created a menu of simple items you can make at home.  Some can be modified depending on the ingredients in your pantry, some can be reduced in size or doubled depending on the number of people in your household, and some make great leftovers 🙂 I’m going to start the morning with Peeps Pancakes and Hash Brown & Bacon Egg … Continue reading

With the temperatures starting to drop I’ve been craving something warm and hearty for dinner.  My criteria is the dish has to be hot, filling, seasonal, and something good enough (and big enough) to have leftovers.  I ended up with the following: Pumpkin Dinner Rolls Apple Cheese and Beer Soup Banana Cookies with Brown Sugar Cream Cheese Frosting   The Pumpkin Dinner Rolls are homemade.  Sure, you can buy store-bought rolls if you prefer but there is something about the smell of bread baking in the oven that gets me every time.  The bread is fresh (literally right out of the oven), warm and so easy to pull apart to eat. I recommend using a stand mixer to make these rolls but it’s OK to mix by hand if you don’t have a stand mixer – you’ll just get quite the arm workout! Heat the milk in a microwave safe … Continue reading

Christmas Light Sugar Cookies These sugar cookies are super simple to make and even more fun to decorate!  I used store-bought sugar cookie dough but if you have a favorite recipe you can definitely use that instead.  Store-bought dough is nice when you don’t have a lot of time or don’t want to make a … Continue reading

If you’re anything like me, you love pumpkin spice!  I know, I know, a lot of people are over the pumpkin spice craze but with so many recipes to try how can you not be intrigued by its deliciousness?  I personally think it should be a year-round item and not just seasonal, but it’s not up to me.  To fulfill my need for pumpkin I decided to have ‘pumpkin weekend’ at our house to hopefully get it out of my system (between us, it will never be out of my system 😊). The first item on the menu was Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls with Cream Cheese Frosting.  These are life changing and I don’t know if I’ll ever make cinnamon rolls without pumpkin again!  The smell of pumpkin and cinnamon fills your house as the rolls bake and for me it brought back some childhood memories because my mom liked to … Continue reading
