Sweets For Your Sweetheart
Valentine’s Day is fast approaching. Do you plan to celebrate with your significant other, kids, or perhaps host a Galentine’s Day celebration? We like to do something every year but it’s never the same thing. Some years we go out, some years we stay in, and some years we postpone until we can figure out what we want to do. Whatever you end up doing (or not doing), I hope you enjoy it! One tradition of mine is to ALWAYS make a beverage or 2 and a dessert or 2 to celebrate during the month of February. I try to make simple recipes that don’t take a lot of time or ingredients and are something anyone could whip up at home. Here’s what I have for you this year: Strawberry Pink Hot Chocolate Strawberry Shortcake Martini Love Letter Pastries Strawberry Puff Pastry Hearts Now let’s walk through how to make each recipe: STRAWBERRY PINK HOT … Continue reading

Simple Bruschetta Recipes
I’ve been craving something light and refreshing lately and made a few bruschetta recipes this weekend to snack on. And by snack on I mean we made it into a meal 😊 If you follow my blog, you’ve probably read my other posts about bruschetta – Simple Summer Bruschetta Recipes (May 2023) and Easy Bruschetta Recipes (June 2023). It’s such a diverse food. You can have sweet, savory, spicy, citrus, vegetarian, meat-based, or any combination. And it’s a bite-sized food so you can serve it as an appetizer or side dish or do what we did and make it a meal. I have 3 recipes to share with you today. One is sweet and refreshing, one is savory, and one is citrusy and refreshing. Strawberry Peach Bruschetta Bacon & Ricotta Bruschetta Lemon, Basil & Ricotta Bruschetta STRAWBERRY PEACH BRUSCHETTA (aka sweet and refreshing) Strawberry Peach Bruschetta is bursting with fresh flavors and has a hint of sweetness … Continue reading

Starburst Infused Vodka
Occasionally during the winter, I start craving warmer weather, fruity cocktails, and a beach somewhere tropical. Who doesn’t? But we live in MN and that’s not a reality this time of year. To curb the winter blues, I sometimes make fruity cocktails at home to feel a little more cheerful about the amount of snow outside 😊 I’m going to share with you 2 new cocktail recipes using Starburst Infused Vodka. You read that right…I infused vodka with Starburst candy. It was super simple and didn’t take any effort to make but patience is required to allow the vodka to sit for a few days. The cocktail recipes can be found here: Cherry Limeade with Starburst Infused Vodka Strawberry Lemonade with Starburst Infused Vodka You want to start by infusing the vodka. Use a fairly nice vodka because it’s literally 2 ingredients: vodka and Starbursts. And you want to enjoy the cocktail, not feel like you ordered some … Continue reading

Individual Dessert Cup 2.0
I previously posted a blog called Individual Dessert Cups where I discuss easy, no bake desserts that are mini-sized and served in 2oz cups. They are perfect for a holiday gathering (especially with Christmas and NYE coming up) or would make great treats for a birthday party, picnic, or even a bake sale. I think they are JUST the right size to satisfy your sweet tooth yet are small enough that you can have more than one without feeling bad about overindulging. You can make them in a variety of flavors, complete with cookie base, creamy filling, and themed toppings. Here are the recipes I’ll be walking you through today: Individual Cookies & Cream Dessert Cups Individual Strawberry Cheesecake Dessert Cups Individual Pumpkin Spice Dessert Cups Let’s start with Individual Cookies & Cream Dessert Cups. These are easy to make, delicious, and perfect for any Oreo lover! There is an Oreo crust, creamy … Continue reading

Valentine’s Day Treats
Valentine’s Day is fast approaching. Do you know how you are celebrating? They are so many options…spend time with a significant other or your kids, maybe a few close friends (think Galantine’s Day), or boycott the day all together 😊 Which I know some people like to do, and that’s OK! We tend to make a last-minute decision on how we will celebrate and some years we go out to eat and some years we stay in. With COVID and rising cases, we’ve been looking for more “at home” options to say safe and healthy. With that being said, I’m not prepared to talk about dinner options today 😊 but do have a few other Valentine’s Day themed treats to share with you. Homemade Valentine’s Day Pop Tarts Valentine’s Day S’mores Frosted Pink Sugar Cookie Bars Strawberry Lemonade Frosé Raspberry Pina Colada Homemade Valentine’s Day Pop Tarts are a favorite for us! They are basically homemade Pop Tarts that … Continue reading

4th Of July Celebration
The 4th of July is right around the corner and as things seem to be returning to normal, I’m sure a lot of people are planning a gathering with friends and family to celebrate. I know we sure are! The weather is predicted to be beautiful and sunny, and we haven’t entertained in a while, so we are really looking forward to the holiday. I have a few new recipes to share with you today. They are all 4th of July themed and something you can easily add to your menu – or anytime throughout summer! I plan on making a few of these this upcoming weekend and look forward to enjoying them at our party. The first recipe is for Firecracker Hot Dogs. Think hot dog wrapped in breadstick or crescent roll dough and baked to perfection. They are super simple to make, will satisfy even the pickiest eater, … Continue reading

Savory Sandwiches
Monte Cristo Sandwiches are my new go to sandwich! They are served warm, so the cheese is perfectly melted, the bread is toasted, and the meat just seems to be extra tender and juicy. It’s not quite a panini, because you aren’t pressing the sandwich or grilling it, but instead you are baking it. I like to use French Toast as the bread as well. It adds a little extra something to each bite! The recipe can be found here. Start by cooking the bacon according to package instructions. Set aside. Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Make the French Toast. In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, and cinnamon. A pie plate or small baking dish works really well for this. Preheat a griddle to medium heat (or use a skillet). Melt a small amount of butter on … Continue reading

There are soooooooo many flavors to choose from, it’s refreshing on a hot summer day (but can be enjoyed year round), you can eat it anywhere, it goes with almost any dessert, you can make it at home….really the reasons to enjoy ice cream are endless 🙂 I enjoy making ice cream with my KitchenAid Ice Cream Maker and trying different flavors. I’ve definitely had a few batches that didn’t turn out how I wanted but let’s be honest, I ate them anyway 🙂 Who would throw away perfectly good ice cream? I do, however, have 3 favorites I would like to share with you today. Strawberry Ice Cream Pistachio Ice Cream Cookies & Cream Ice Cream Homemade Strawberry Ice Cream is incredibly flavorful and refreshing!
