Gameday Goodies
Are you ready for some football? The Super Bowl is right around the corn and I’m sure you’re busy getting ready to host a party or determine what you are going to bring to someone else’s party. It’s always fun to plan food that’s themed for a special event and try to make something unique. When I host an event, I like to have a variety of snacks to choose from; something warm, something hearty, grab-and-go type snacks, and at least one dessert item. This year for the Super Bowl, we are providing the following food options to our guests: Buffalo Chicken Dip with Tortilla Chips Fresh Popped Popcorn from Lauri’s Pop-Corner Pepperoni Pizza Rolls Mini Loaded Potato Skins Ranch Snack Mix Football Cupcakes The Buffalo Chicken Dip is available from the deli at your local Festival Foods. You can always order online ahead of time to guarantee availability. … Continue reading

Air Fryer Chicken Wings and Homemade French Fries
We recently purchased an air fryer to see what the hype is all about – it’s pretty awesome! Our first meal consisted of Air Fryer Lemon Pepper Chicken Wings and Air Fryer Homemade French Fries. Both the chicken wings and french fries were crispy on the outside and tender on the side. Plus, they are so easy to make! You’d never guess you could have delicious chicken wings and french fries for a fraction of the oil traditionally used to cook these items. That’s because air fryers require less oil than when frying food, making it a great appliance to use to cut calories and fat. Generally speaking, air fryers product healthier alternatives to fried food. Give it a try! Air Fryer Lemon Pepper Chicken Wings have great flavor in each bite! The lemon flavor really stands out without being overpowering and the skin becomes crispy, creating a nice crunch. … Continue reading

Fan Favorite Food
Are you ready for some football…and delicious food? Snacks and appetizers served during a football game need to be fit for a crowd and easy to eat. Think finger foods, grab-and-go, quick and easy…. foods that don’t draw your attention away from the game for too long – you don’t want to miss any big plays! We’re hosting a football part this week and will be serving the following items: Football Pretzel Rods Individual Chicken Taco Bowls Loaded Tater Tot Kabobs Mini Football Pizzas Dessert Football Pretzel Rods are super simple to make and a crowd favorite! Plus, pretzels are such a common snack food so you can’t go wrong. I like to pick team colors or traditional football colors (or think seasonably if making these for a holiday gathering). My pretzel rods wills be dipped in milk chocolate with white chocolate used to create the look … Continue reading

Haunted Hullabaloo
Halloween is fast approaching. For some, Halloween is a lifestyle and obsession, for others, it’s a day to be someone or something else. I personally love decorating the house, buying candy to pass out to trick-or-treaters, dressing up the dog…. but mostly, I love the food! I like to take a traditional dish and “dress it up” for Halloween. For example, a pepperoni pizza might have the pepperoni in the shape of a jack-o-lantern. You get the picture 🙂 This year, I have quite the spread. It’s going to be one big Halloween celebration at our house, starting with breakfast, and ending with dinner. Here’s what’s on the menu: Eyeball Donuts Spider Web Donuts Candy “Charcuterie” Board Eyeball Asparagus and Gruyere Tart Spider Web Loaded Potatoes Festival Feetloaf Mini Skeleton Cheesecakes Halloween is full of candy and treats so why not start the day with something sugary? Eyeball … Continue reading

Buffalo Chicken Sloppy Joe’s
When was the last time you ate a Sloppy Joe? It’s not a common meal in my house but there is something about a Sloppy Joe that reminds me of family dinners as a child. I wanted to create a new version of a Sloppy Joe that combines another favorite food of ours – buffalo chicken. The result was a Buffalo Chicken Sloppy Joe. It was amazing! These Buffalo Chicken Sloppy Joe’s have enough heat without being too spicy and veggies hidden within the meat that add great flavor. I recommend drizzling some ranch or blue cheese dressing on top to offset the heat. And because who can enjoy buffalo sauce without ranch or blue cheese? It really completes the sandwich! The recipe can be found here. Let’s get cooking! Start by doing all the prep work. I like to chop my veggies, measure out my dry and liquid ingredients, … Continue reading

Homemade Soft Pretzel Bites
Do you ever crave those soft, chewy, irresistible smelling soft pretzels you get from street vendors or mall kiosks? If so, you’re in luck! I have a recipe for Homemade Soft Pretzel Bites that is a perfect replica. These Homemade Pretzel Bites have a perfectly doughy center, crispy crust, and buttery and salty flavor. They are fun to make and fun to eat. Great for dipping – the perfect finger food! A bit of work is required to make these but it’s worth it. They are SO good right out of the oven. The recipe can be found here. Start by preparing the dough. I recommend using a stand mixer if you have one. You can mix the dough by hand, but your arms will be quite sore! Add the water, brown sugar, yeast, and butter to the bowl of a stand mixer and let sit for 5 minutes. Add … Continue reading

Halloween Goodies
Get in the Halloween spirit this year by cooking up some spooky treats that are a foolproof way to gear up for the holiday. Your family will love the thought you put into creating a fun, themed dish, and you will love how quick and easy the recipes are. I have quite a few recipe ideas to share with you that are great for a family meal, snack, or appetizer. Let’s start with appetizers! Jalapeño Mummies – think jalapeño popper when you think of this recipe as they are very similar in concept. However, I’ve taken crescent rolls, cut them into strips, and wrapped them around the filled jalapeños to create the look of a mummy – spooky and delicious! These mummies are creamy, spicy, and loaded with flavor. The recipe can be found here. Cream Cheese Bat Wontons – these are essentially cream cheese wontons formed to look like … Continue reading
